I am a tobacco user, how do I remove my tobacco surcharge?

You can earn a $50 a month tobacco cessation credit by completing a Be Tobacco-Free Coaching call with Virgin Pulse. See below for how to sign up:

  • Log into your Virgin Pulse account: click here
  • Hover over Health then click on Coaching
  • Find the Be Tobacco-Free Coaching Topic
  • Then schedule your call at a time that is convenient for you

Important things to note:

  • You don’t have to quit smoking to earn the $50 cessation credit offset to the surcharge, we just ask that you try each year.
  • Once you complete the cessation coaching call you will start receiving a $50 tobacco cessation credit the first of the month following your completion.  Your tobacco surcharge will remain for the entire year.

Activity Tracking Options? i.e. Steps, Sleep, Active Minutes

Active minutes, amount of sleep, and other items are tracked through a device and can not be manually entered.  You have a few options for devices if you would like to earn points for these activities:

  • If you have a smartphone that can act as your device: If you sync Apple Health (iPhone) or Google Health (droid devices) and track there they will sync up to your account and get points. (you get points for adding a device too!)
  • Once you earn level one you get $10 Pulse cash this year which makes their Buzz Max only $15! Just purchase through the Virgin Pulse store.

But this is my Insurance Policy! I should be able to make whatever changes I want whenever I want!

  • The insurance available through ACBL Benefits is a Group Policy. Team members may pay their portion of the insurance premiums, but the policy as a whole is a group plan. Because it is a group plan it must be administered by the same set of rules for all team members and their dependents.
  • Additionally, many of our benefits are paid for using Pre-Tax money. Under IRS rules and regulations, benefits can only be changed under certain situations mid-year if they impact taxes.
