Why ACBL
Customers don’t choose ACBL just because of our barges. They choose us because we plan ahead, show up on time, and stay on the phone when the river gets hard. Our customer list runs from Fortune 500 producers to regional cooperatives, and they use us for mission-critical cargo that simply has to get to its destination.

What We Move
o1 / Dry Cargo
Dry Cargo
We operate the widest covered and open hopper fleet on the inland system.
Our dry cargo fleet carries grain, coal, steel, aggregates, fertilizer, ores, salt, cement, gypsum, project cargo, and containers. If you ship it dry, we likely already carry it for someone in your industry. We have the scale to handle peak harvest, the routing to manage low-water restrictions, and the planning to land a single oversized piece exactly where it needs to be.

o2 / Liquid Cargo
Liquid Cargo
Our tank fleet handles petrochemicals, refined products, ethanol, edible oils, and the cargo that demands the strongest safety culture in the industry.
We move regulated and non-regulated liquids to and from every major refining and petrochemical hub on the inland system.
In 2024, our Liquids Division operated the full year with zero recordable injuries, a record customers can plan around.
ACBL has also received the LyondellBasell GoalZERO Award for two consecutive years in recognition of our commitment to operational safety and incident prevention.
o3 / Fleets & Terminals
Fleets & Terminals
Our terminal and fleeting network extends the economics of barging to customers whose origin or destination is not on the water.
We transload between barge, rail, and truck, and we store, fleet, and shift cargo across the network. The whole system is built to keep freight moving through the points where the river bottlenecks. The Memphis Terminal has operated 18 consecutive years incident- and injury-free.

Liquid Terminals
Our liquid terminals offer build-to-suit capacity of up to 200,000 barrels.
We handle diverse liquids including vegetable oils, molasses, and used oil.
We have Lower Mississippi acreage available for independent terminal development.
Our terminals offer direct access to multiple rail lines and interstate highways.

o4 / Special Projects
Special Projects
We handle the heavy-lift, oversized, time-critical, and one-of-a-kind moves that no one else will take on.

Working with Major Businesses to Keep America Moving
The names we work for are among the largest producers and shippers in America. The work we do for them does not make headlines, and that is how we have kept doing it.
